This workshop aims to assess the diversity of financiers with regard to their place on the financing market for
African companies. This will include discussing around:
• The resistance of traditional funders: banks;
• Insufficient reach of banking-type financial institutions;
• The uncertainties of microfinance institutions;
• The expansion of venture capitalists;
• Business financing by insurance companies;
• The proliferation of public business financing structures;
• Gradual integration of actors and techniques of Islamic finance;
• The diversity of participatory finance actors.
• Alternatives to bank financing for entrepreneurs in the OHADA zone: Shadow Banking and
city credit.
